Several studies have indicated that angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) such as losartan and telmisartan or farnesoid X receptor (FXR) agonists may be effective in improving NASH symptoms (Arab, Karpen, Dawson, Arrese, & Trauner, 2016; Fujita et al., 2007; Hirata et al., 2013; Yoshiji et al., 2009); however, a definitive therapeutic option remains unavailable to date. This evidence concerns the gene NR1H4 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
