Both time (F1,88 = 18.3, p < 0.0001) and tumor treatment (F2,88 = 5.5, p < 0.01) independently influenced hypothalamic Il-1β mRNA, which in contrast to our a priori hypothesis, was reduced in both the hypothalamus (t27 = 2.2, p < 0.05) and frontal cortex (t30 = 2.3, p < 0.05) of tumor-bearing mice relative to tumor-free controls at 4 h post-LPS. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and neoplasm.
