Thus, in connection with breast cancer, we examined the expression of genes encoding oncogenes that promote tumorigenesis or those associated with a poor prognosis, such as ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 4 (ADAMTS4), CAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor beta (PKIB), peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22), and inhibitor of differentiation 1 (ID1) [27,28,29,30]. The gene discussed is PMP22; the disease is breast cancer.
