Including melanoma lines with colon cancer lines in JACKS estimation increases the separation of BRAF mutants from nonmutants in the colon cancer lines (AUC 0.72 vs. 0.78 in colon only and in colon + melanoma lines), suggesting that BRAF mutation status is still predictive in colon cancer, if only of a much weaker response. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and colonic neoplasm.
