We thereby confirmed that CCI-006 selectively decreased the viability of a subset of MLL-r leukemia cells (Fig. 1d, Table 1): the compound reduced the viability of seven out of eleven (64%) “sensitive” MLL-r leukemia cell lines to below 85% of that of vehicle-treated cells at a 10 μM dose, including cell lines derived from infant (younger than 1 year) or pediatric leukemia patients with chemo-resistant disease (Table 1, see Supplementary Table 1 for cell line characteristics) [11]. The gene discussed is KMT2A; the disease is leukemia.
