When further adjusting for established risk factors (model 2), all 7 proteins remained significantly associated with incident diabetes; 5 proteins (CD163, Gal-4, CTSD, PAI and FABP4) with an increased risk of diabetes and 2 proteins (PON3 and IGFBP-2) with a decreased risk for incident diabetes: (Table 3).
