Considering the role of Z-disk as mediator of external mechanical stimulus, we chose several genes, encoding both structural and signaling Z-disk-associated proteins (Actn2, Ldb3, Cmya5, Fhl1, Fhl2, Csrp3, Nebl, Myoz2), to assess gene expression profiles under pressure overload conditions at different time points of LV hypertrophy development. This evidence concerns the gene NEBL and cardiac hypertrophy.
