IL6 and familial long QT syndrome: Previous studies have shown that circulating IL-6 levels are elevated in patients with autoimmune diseases (Adlan et al., 2015; Lazzerini et al., 2015a,c, 2017a) and are associated with the prolongation of corrected QT (QTc) or LQTS, a serious condition which increases vulnerability to fatal arrhythmias including Torsades de Pointes (TdP).
