In fact, recently published results from a Phase II clinical trial indicated that patients with castration‐resistant prostate cancer that carry mutations in DNA repair genes, such as BRCA1/2, ATM, Fanconi anemia components, and CHEK2, show positive response to olaparib, indicating a dependence on PARP1/2 for survival upon DNA damage 61. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and Fanconi anemia.
