When functionality of each population was assessed, we saw significantly higher levels of CD4+Vα7.2+ cells producing both IFN-γ and IL-17 and those producing IFN-γ alone in TB-Flu co-infected subjects compared to TB mono-infected subjects (p = 0.0061 and p = 0.0020 respectively; Figures 4E,G). This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and tuberculosis.
