Recently, a Chinese study demonstrated that circulating Helios+Tregs are significantly decreased in acute coronary syndrome and the estimated absolute numbers of CD4+Foxp3+Helios+ Tregs were negatively correlated with IL-6 and positively correlated with circulating levels of the transforming growth factor beta1 (TGF-beta1) and HDL-C in these patients [43]. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and acute coronary syndrome.
