Although some of these results warrant replication because of the small sample size of the subgroups, it might be speculated that higher levels of methylation are an attempt by the organism to downregulate a highly functional androgen (receptor) system and/or downregulate androgen-driven impulsivity and aggressive behaviors toward children in those subjects who have committed CSO in the past but are currently willing to control their behaviors.
