SHBG and polycystic ovary syndrome: Contrary to these findings, reductions in FAI and testosterone and elevations in SHBG were seen in women with PCOS following daily supplementation with a “high vitamin D dose” (4000 IU/day), but not a “lower dose” (1000 IU/day), over a 12-week period in a RCT that was not included in these meta-analyses [15].
