The multivariate Cox’s regression hazard analysis (adjusted to the patient’s tumor stage, lymph node status (N-stage) and tumor grade), showed an increased risk of death (RR = 2.2; p = 0.02) for patients with a high CA9 mRNA level in their tumors as compared to patients with a low CA9 mRNA level (Table 1, Figure 2).
