Tumor immune evasion is a fundamental hallmark of cancer cells [3], facilitated by T-cell “checkpoint” receptors such as cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) and programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) and is an important area of scientific investigation and interest (see Figure 1).
