RUNX1 and leukemia: Over 50 translocations affecting RUNX1 are reported for leukemia which result in fusion proteins involved in a broad spectrum of malignant diseases [35]; Most recurrent examples include RUNX1-ETO, RUNX1-EVI1, and ETV6-RUNX1, respectively the products of t(8;21)(q22;q22), t(3;21)(q26.2;q22), and t(12;21)(p13;q22) translocations.
