Fibrillin2 (FBN2) encodes a protein that is part of the connective tissue microfibrils and elastic fiber assembly of the cell.29 Rare and common variants in FBN2 have been associated with age-related macular degeneration.30 Recent studies have also implicated common variants in FBN2 to be associated with SBP,31 although the variants differ (rs6595838-SBP and rs39938-BI, r2 = 0.017). Here, CACNA1A is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
