In clinical practice, mTOR inhibitors (sirolimus and everolimus) are frequently prescribed in LT patients with HCC as they are potent immunosuppressants, thus effective to prevent organ rejection [11] and could also inhibit the proliferation of remnant HCC cells to prevent tumour recurrence, as shown in in vitro studies [8,12].
