SMARCB1 and carcinoma of esophagus: Recently, the round cell subtype of undifferentiated esophageal carcinoma with prominent rhabdoid features has been identified as a distinct aggressive type of malignancy [11–14], since the tumor is occasionally negative for one of the tumor-suppressor gene products, SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily B member 1 (SMARCB1) [14].
