The human peptide Gly- (L-His)–(L-Lys) or GHK has a high affinity for copper as a carrier, and once it binds copper it may have an anti-inflammatory effect with suppression of free radicals, formation of thromboxane, release of iron oxidant and TGFβ, increase of superoxide dismutase and vasodilation, which would be essential for tissue repair in LC. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and laryngotracheoesophageal cleft.
