IL31 and atopic eczema: Studies carried out in mouse models as well as data obtained from the analysis of sera and biopsies from patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) indicate that IL-31 is involved in the pathogenesis of allergic skin inflammatory diseases and is upregulated in these diseases (Neis et al., 2006; Siniewicz-Luzenczyk et al., 2013; Bilsborough et al., 2006; Raap et al., 2008; Kato et al., 2014).
