To test if aggregated contents of uPA and PAI-1 tumor levels might have influenced disease outcome, we divided the study group into three subgroups: subgroup 1 (N = 38, 46.91%), uPA and PAI-1 both elevated, subgroup 2 (N = 13, 16.05%), uPA elevated and PAI-1 within normal range or uPA within normal range and PAI-1 elevated, and subgroup 3 (N = 30, 37.04%), uPA and PAI-1 both within normal limits (Table 1).
