TP53 and cancer: Hence, the set of siRNA sequences presented here represents a unique set of siRNAs that are capable of specifically targeting almost 20% of all cancers with mutations in p53, supporting the notion that with sufficient screening, nucleotide-specific siRNAs can be generated and evaluated in clinical trials, as has been demonstrated with the mutant keratin-specific siRNAs to treat the skin disorder Pachyonychia Congenita [51].
