Another member of MTA family, MTA3, which has been reported to inhibit the EMT of breast cancer by transcriptionally downregulating Snail [12], was reported to promote the progression of non-small cell lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma [31, 32], implying that the roles of MTA family members may change with different cancer types. The gene discussed is MTA3; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
