Such inference was further supported by pathway analysis (KEGG), which demonstrated that DEGs in the magenta and green modules were significantly enriched (p < 0.05) in nine pathways including Influenza A, Herpes simplex infection, RIG-I-like receptor signaling pathway, Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, NOD-like receptor signaling pathway, Intestinal immune network for IgA production, Arginine biosynthesis, Alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism, and Cytosolic DNA-sensing pathway (Additional file 10: Table S8).
