Assessment of disease severity revealed that CTLA-4 rs3087243 G allele carriers had significantly lower average SOFA-Central Nervous System (SOFA-CNS) scores (1.9 ± 1.1 vs. 2.2 ± 1.0; p = 0.0094) over the observation period and a lower percentage of ventilated days as a fraction of observation days (65 ± 32% vs. 71 ± 32%; p = 0.0280) than AA homozygous patients. The gene discussed is CTLA4; the disease is nervousness.
