The study of acidic environment in glioma began in 2001, evidence found that acid environment can increase the transcription of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in brain glioma cells13, further revealed that the acid environment induced the expression of VEGF through activation of the Ras and ERK1/2 MAPK-signaling pathways14. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and central nervous system cancer.
