SSTR1 and pituitary gland adenoma: In order to move forward with this promising target for medical and nuclear medical treatment, we conducted this study, in which we analyzed the immunohistochemical expression of SSTR1, 2A, 3, 4, and 5 in a large group of 277 human pituitary adenomas including 88 corticotroph pituitary adenomas using tissue microarrays, classified according to the latest changes introduced in the WHO 2017 classification of endocrine tumors.
