Lam et al. [15, 16] confirmed Type 1 RIRE in targeted human cervical cancer HeLa cells as well as in mouse embryo fibroblast NIH/3T3 cells irradiated with α particles, when the targeted cells were co-cultured with the same cell lines that were non-irradiated, revealed through reduced numbers of 53BP1 foci/cell and through increased phosphorylated NF-κB (p-NF-κB) expression. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and cervical cancer.
