The recently developed inhibitor AS2676293 has been shown to inhibit RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation of the monocyte/macrophage cell line RAW264.7.22 The inhibitory effect of AS2676293 was also determined in vivo using a RANKL-induced osteoporosis model.22 As shown in our recent study, the RANKL on T cells stimulates astrocytes in the central nervous system (CNS) during autoimmune encephalomyelitis to promote inflammatory cell infiltration into the CNS.
