The synthesis of type IV collagen (COL-IV), fibronectin (FN), and laminin (LN) increased in renal mesenchymal cells, renal tubular epithelium cells, endothelial cells, and other mesenchymal cells [8], which accelerates the accumulation of extra-cellular matrix (ECM) and forms renal interstitial fibrosis, resulting in renal fibrosis. The gene discussed is FN1; the disease is renal fibrosis.
