Supported by the association of RET expression and poor prognosis [15–17] as well as an association with negative prognostic factors such as large tumour size [16], the combination of endocrine therapy with agents blocking the RET signalling pathway could be a possible approach to overcome endocrine resistance in breast cancer, and has become the subject of preclinical research and various clinical trials [1, 15, 18, 19].
