Finally, using a graph clustering approach, we corroborated our findings and line of investigation demonstrating that pathways in cancer identified in KEGG repository are highly connected to pathways related to cell–cell adhesion (adherens junctions), cell–ECM adhesion (focal adhesion), ECM–receptor interaction and regulation of the actin cytoskeleton (Figure 6b, pink cluster) while also being connected to the major pro-survival pathways of MAPK, Akt, and Ras (Figure 6b, green cluster). The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is cancer.
