Interestingly, the so-called flexicates exhibit anticancer activity of sub-micromolar to nanomolar range against the tested human cancer cell lines: MDA-MB-468 (human epithelial breast adenocarcinoma), HCT116 p53+/+ and HCT116 p53−/− that are genetically identical human colorectal cancer cell lines except for the presence or absence of functional p53, which is a common genetic difference associated with increased resistance to chemotherapy.
