In our study, we demonstrated that cytoplasmic expression of HMGB1 in tumor tissue was associated with CD3+ T lymphocyte count but were not correlated with the count of FOXP3+ T cells, while HMGN1 in cytoplasm was correlated with CD3+ T cell count, CD8+ T cell count and FOXP3+ regulatory T cell count, suggesting that the secretion of these two HMG alarmins in tumor tissue may contribute to the influx of TILs. The gene discussed is FOXP3; the disease is neoplasm.
