In a study involving 298 Han Chinese patients with a range of auto-inflammatory diseases (Synovitis, Acne, Pustulosis, Hyperostosis and Osteitis [SAPHO], rheumatoid arthritis, AS and seronegative spondyloarthropathy), an AS-associated single-nucleotide polymorphism (rs6908425 in CDKAL1) was associated with the risk of developing SAPHO syndrome (32). Here, CDKAL1 is linked to spondyloarthropathy.
