A total of 21 variables were significantly associated with the development of thrombocytopenia, including demographics (age), co-morbidities (DM, congestive heart failure, and chronic kidney disease), several laboratory values (white blood cell, red blood cell, hematocrit, hemoglobin, neutrophil, urea, creatinine, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, fasting blood glucose, potassium, international normalized ratio, ejection fraction) and several concomitant drugs (β-blocker, diuretic, and insulin, Table 2). Here, INS is linked to diabetes mellitus.
