We were able to replicate known associations between splicing of exon two in CD33 and Alzheimer’s disease (Figure 3—figure supplement 1) (Malik et al., 2013) and splicing of exon 13 in HMGCR and LDL cholesterol (Figure 3—figure supplement 2) (Burkhardt et al., 2008). Here, CD33 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
