VEGFA and colorectal carcinoma: Angiogenesis is a mechanism important for colorectal carcinoma development and progression.[5–7] Several signaling pathways contribute to such activity as stimulators acting in a synergistic manner with the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor (VEGFR) pathways.[8–10] VEGF is a potent angiogenesis agent that acts as a specific mitogen for vascular endothelial cells through specific cell surface receptors.
