Recent genome‐wide association studies revealed that the FAM13A gene was associated with human lung function and a variety of lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer, and pulmonary fibrosis (Eisenhut et al., 2016; Hirano et al., 2017; Wang et al., 2013). The gene discussed is FAM13A; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
