Figure 2 summarizes how the expression levels of CAT, SOD1, and SOD2 proteins were regulated with diabetes and/or resveratrol. Accordingly, diabetes significantly suppressed the renal CAT protein (p = 0.01), while the SOD1 protein levels were upregulated (p = 0.02) (Figure 2B,C). Resveratrol, when applied to the control group, significantly increased SOD2 protein (p = 0.01) but did not show the same effect to other antioxidant enzymes. Here, CAT is linked to diabetes mellitus.
