These findings correlate with clinical data demonstrating that EGFRvIII expression in the presence of EGFR amplification is an indicator of a poor survival prognosis in GBM [12], and that EGFRvIII expression independently correlates with poor prognosis in patients with gross-total resection (>95%) surviving ≥1 year [13].
