Patients with OSCC with high CD8+ T‐cell density in the parenchymal invading tumor edge had a significantly superior DSS (100% vs 83.6%, P < 0.01) and OS (93.6% vs 76.1%, P < 0.01), whereas high CD8+ T‐cell density in the parenchyma at the center of the tumor was not associated with improved DSS or OS in univariate analysis (Table 2).
