Oguejiofor et al17 showed on multivariate analysis that a high density of CD8+ T cells in the tumor stroma, but not the tumor parenchyma, was associated with significantly better overall survival (OS) in human papilloma virus‐positive oropharyngeal SCC, whereas Nguyen et al18 observed that the tumor parenchymal, at not tumor invasive front, CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes influence their prognostic impact. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
