Our analysis also revealed that the differentially expressed protein IL1RL1, which has been proven to be a valuable biomarker of cardiac stress and a strong predictor of cardiovascular death and the risk of developing new heart failure in syncytiotrophoblast elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) patients [38, 39], was the most upregulated protein (fold change = 10.62) in serum samples from HIV/TM-coinfected patients compared to HIV mono-infected patients [38, 39].
