TLR4 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: TLR4‐deficient mice display decreased liver injury, inflammation, and lipid accumulation in comparison with wild‐type mice in NAFLD models induced by high fructose or MCD diet (Rivera et al, 2007; Spruss et al, 2009), which confirms the role of TLR4 in inducing inflammation in NAFLD.
