As a real-life example of the consequences of using the leptin-adjusted MBDA score, we found that, in the commercial RA cohort (n = 325 781), it differed from the original MBDA score by -9 to +11 points for 90% of patients (Supplementary Fig. S2, available at Rheumatology online). The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
