As shown in Table 3, in multivariate regression analysis, variables associated with increased risk of 30-day mortality include age > 75 years, BUN> 20 mg/dl, albumin < 3 g/dl, inorganic phosphorus levels> 4.5 mg/dl and abnormal levels of magnesium (hypermagnesemia, including high normal levels and hypomagnesemia). Here, ALB is linked to familial primary hypomagnesemia.
