As shown in Fig. 3a, p53 pathway ranked lowest in the Basal-like breast cancer type and ranked lower in Luminal A than in Luminal B. It is reported that TP53 are the most recurrently mutated genes in breast cancer, with frequency of 84% in Basal-like tumors [23] and p53 pathway remains largely intact in Luminal A cancers but is often inactivated in the more aggressive Luminal B cancers [33]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast cancer.
