The involvement of histone modification enzymes in GEM resistance was recently reported in which depletion of enhancer zeste homolog 2 (EZH2), a histone methyltransferase responsible for the methylation of lysine 27 of histone H3 (H3K27), induces p27Kip1 expression and sensitizes pancreatic cancer cells to GEM [16]. The gene discussed is EZH2; the disease is pancreatic neoplasm.
