TP53 and cutaneous melanoma: DUSP6 was shown to be regulated by ERK, rather than p53, and downregulation of DUSP6 by trametinib treatment resulted in reduced phosphatase activity on ATM and a consequent increase in p53 (Ser15) phosphorylation, after p53 activation by combined treatment with MDM2 inhibitors (nutlin-3/RG7388/HDM201) in BRAFV600E/p53WT cutaneous melanoma cells.
